NOVEMBER 3, 2012

It is hard to believe that November is here.  Only two more months and 2012 will be gone for ever.  Just thought I would share the link to John Anderson’s newletter of October 16, 2012.  I am so happy and proud that he chose one of my Eagle quilts as his own. The Screeching Eagle is now in the collection of John and Alex Anderson.  Take a look at John’s newsletter:

NOVEMBER 14, 2012

I participated in a Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) challenge to create a quilt that represented a season.  I was assigned SPRING. The challenge was to create a quilt 36″ wide by 78″ high. What a hard size !  I just found out it will be the Quilt that represents SPRING on the cover of the book for the SAQA’S Seasonal Palette book.

Here is the picture of the book cover. The one on the top right is my quilt!!!!! Yey!!!   Next to it is the quilt picture as it appeared, among all the others in the exhibit, in Houston, just a few weeks ago.  (Credit for that photo goes to the SAQA photographer Gregory Case).

I called it “Family is Coming” and it represented Spring with a nest ready to hatch.  I am not sure how many folks will realize that Herons and Dogwood flowers usually do not go together.  Herons being more of a west coast bird and dogwood growing on the east coast.  But I come from New York and live in California now, so I wanted to join the two coastlines in one quilt.  You can also see the quilt on my gallery!

Enjoy!
